Endometriosis is a chronic, often painful condition that affects an estimated 10% of reproductive-age women globally. It is characterized by the growth of endometrial-like tissue outside the uterus, causing symptoms like severe pelvic pain, infertility, and menstrual irregularities.
Current treatment options, including hormonal therapies and surgical interventions, provide limited relief and are associated with significant side effects or recurrence of symptoms. Thus, there is a pressing need for novel, more effective, and less invasive therapeutic approaches.
